What do you think getting enough sleep has to do with the way you breathe?
The answer is, plenty.
Most of us know that regular exercise and healthy food are important for maintaining a healthy and fit body. What many people underestimate is the value of getting enough sleep. Like proper nutrition and exercise, sleep is essential if you want to feel and look your best. Most adults need between seven and eight hours of sleep a night. Individual needs may range from five to as many as ten hours. If your sleep is interrupted it can make a big difference in how you function in your life. I find that if I do at least 10 minutes of Life Lift breathing before bedtime, the quality of my sleep is dramatically improved. Because of all of the positive comments from many of you who use the Reflexology video at bedtime I have started using it too. What an incredible difference in my sleep habits. I am sleeping deeper, longer without waking up and feeling so much more refreshed when I wake up. I find I feel so calm and relaxed at bedtime that I gently drift off to sleep. There is no question that I feel better and even look better when I wake up.
Sleep is vital if you are to maintain a healthy body and a sense of well-being.
You may not realize that when you are sleeping your body is working to rebuild and regenerate. This all important sleep time is being used by your body to re-energize you for the upcoming day. Your body needs this sleep to recuperate from the prior day as well as prepare itself for the upcoming one.
If you are not allowing yourself to get enough sleep you will be less productive when you are awake. Your performance in all things will suffer.
Your body will age faster, you will feel sluggish and you will be less able to deal with life's stress.
People spend incredible amounts of money trying to find anything that will help them not to look and feel old. The money spent on anti-aging products is staggering. There are two very simple tools that many of you are missing. Breathing better and sleeping better. The two go hand in hand. By taking the time to focus on breathing better you can improve the quality of your sleep and see the anti-aging benefits as a reward.
Sleep Debt
Depriving yourself of sleep night after night can cause you to accumulate a sleep debt. Look for clues to determine whether you need to catch up on sleep. Here are some examples;
Do you doze off while sitting in a car stopped in traffic, while reading, watching television or just sitting? The only way to reduce this debt is to get the amount of sleep your body needs. If you feel you are chronically sleep deprived or may have a serious sleep problem, consult your doctor or a sleep specialist.
Deep Breathing before bedtime can improve the quality of your sleep
I can't begin to count the number of times I have heard someone tell me how much better they sleep when they do a few Life Lift breaths before bedtime. Many have even reported how much better their children are sleeping after doing the Oxygen Zoo video before bedtime. Not only are they relaxing from doing the Life Lift breaths, but they are also going to bed with their little heads filled with positive messages. My favorite stories are coming from smart Mom's who are having their whole family, including very young children do the Reflexology video with them before bedtime. So many of these messages came through our support lists a few weeks ago that I decided to do the Reflexology video before bedtime. I have been doing Reflexology combined with Life Lift for many years, but most often I would do it early in the morning to begin my day. I was amazed at the difference in the quality of sleep I have had the past several nights after doing the complete Reflexology video before bedtime. Nothing like having a few devoted Life Lifters inspire me to build another healthy habit. I have always known that Life Lift helped many people sleep better, but combining it with the Reflexology at bedtime is nothing short of amazing.
Make your bedroom a place of comfort and serenity
Your bedroom should be a place where you feel as if someone lifted the weight of the world from you shoulders. It should be quiet and relaxing. Be aware of the bed you sleep on. An uncomfortable or worn-out mattress and foundation can cause you to have aches and pains that may wake you up long before you have had a good night sleep.
Unwelcome light or noise or a room that's too warm or too cool can prevent you from getting the sleep you need. Sounds that disrupt your sense of peace may also interrupt your sleep. Using sound machines that have soothing sounds may be helpful. I like to fall asleep listening to Positive Affirmation tapes or audio tapes that are filled with positive messages. It helps me to feel safe and secure as well as hopeful as I fall asleep.
There's no reason to settle for anything less than perfect sleep.
Is your bedroom conducive to a good night's sleep?
These four factors can make a difference:
Light Light is one of the most powerful time cues to awaken you. The rising sun can wake up the brain long before the alarm goes off. A dark room is the best for sleep – day or night. There are some new lights that you can purchase that will awaken you by getting a little brighter as it gets closer to the time your alarm is set to go off. This is a good idea for many reasons. Those of you who suffer from SAD when you spend too much time in darkness in the Winter months will be getting the dose of light needed to begin a new day feeling great. The light will be a good signal that it is time to do a few of your health building Life Lift breaths to begin your day in the best way possible, filled with energy and enthusiasm.
Noise Sudden, loud noises from inside or outside the home can disrupt your sleep. Steady, low sounds, such as the sounds that come from sound machines like ocean waves, falling rain, babbling brooks can be very helpful. Even the sounds of a fan or air conditioner, are soothing because they help block out distracting noises.
Temperature The ideal bedroom temperature is 60 to 65 degrees. A room that's too warm or too cool can disrupt comfortable sleep. Something as simple as wearing socks to bed may keep your body warmer and more comfortable.
A few added tips to help you reach your weight loss goals
Using Light to your benefit
It is interesting to know how much light affects our lives, our moods, our eating habits and even our sleeping habits.
New research from the University of California, Irvine has shown that the lighting conditions in which you dine can actually help you reach your weight loss goals. Using very bright, high-wattage light bulbs in your kitchen and dining room can make it easier for you to achieve those goals you have set. Light can be a key ingredient to your dieting success. It appears you will be more likely to overeat if you eat in dim light.
Dr. Joseph Kasof of the University of California, Irvine stated "If you diet, take seriously the lighting conditions where you eat," He says "You're more likely to adhere to the diet if the lighting is bright. Eating in dimmer lighting, even if only slightly dimmer, may increase your risk of lapsing."
Dr. Kasof determined that dieting success is related to high-wattage light bulbs through two studies he conducted using 400 college undergraduates. About one in five students in each study group was overweight. He found that those students who admitted they were preoccupied with the desire to be thinner preferred to eat in dimmer light and were more likely to binge eat.
Dr. Kasof concluded that dim lighting loosens us from our healthy inhibitions such as not wanting to eat too much. It "frees us from the very constraints that we are deliberately seeking," he explained to Reuters. His conclusion is if you want to lose weight and keep it off, eat in a bright dining area. Use brighter light bulbs. Open the curtains or shades. Rearrange the lamps so they illuminate the room better.
Let there be light. Let the sun shine in whenever possible, and if it is dark outside, turn on those light switches.
Once again research has shown that those who belong to internet support groups have better long-term success in reaching their goals
Even those who do not participate by writing to the support groups often experience enhanced results due to motivation that comes from reading about the dedication and success of others. The beauty of LL is you can use it however you like. The LifeLift tapes have positions that tone and bring oxygen to different parts of the body to "target" specific areas. I like to use the tapes so I do not have to think, I can just follow Rashelle! I do my tapes early in the morning when thinking is hard for me! I do my own positions at work or sometimes I just breathe with no positions, just to get in some extras. You will be really pleased with the tapes. Oxygen is so good for you, it will energize you and relax you at the same time. A big part of that comes from Rashelle's delivery, she does a beautiful job. You will love it!

The original video is still the best in my opinion. It was what people used for years and years until Rashelle got on these lists a few years ago and we all begged her to make us some workout tapes!
You won't go wrong with any of her tapes. I rotate them around. I have them all. Right now, I'm doing the original because I find it to be very gentle and I need gentle right now. I do reflexology on my own, but sometimes I pop in her reflexology tape. When I'm doing it on my own, I seem to forget to do my ears! I do my hands and feet and forget about the ears.

I agree with you about the body wrap products; they are great. I also want to rave about the Eye Mag C Renewal Cream. I have used many different eye creams over the last 20 years and I do believe this is probably the best I have found. It is totally absorbed into the skin and does not feel greasy. For me, it also works wonders for those dark circles I can get under my eyes. The masking kit is also one of the best I have found.
